Sander Thomas
With his precocious smile and boundless energy, Sander Thomas became a familiar face to audiences when he joined the cast of the family comedy series "Splitting Up Together" (ABC, 2018-) in 2018. Born in 2012, Thomas' mother Jamie Mayer was a writer and filmmaker. Thomas took an early interest in sports, playing youth baseball and excitedly attending Clippers games with his parents. Eventually, the youngster's upbeat disposition and penchant for performing, coupled with his creative atmosphere at home, led Thomas to take an interest in stepping in acting. He had a perfect opportunity to try out his new interest when Mayer began production on the short film "Crowbar Smile" (2017) in 2016. Appearing in the project, Thomas proved he had the rare energy and patience required of a child actor, and soon his parents were allowing him to audition for another role, playing the son of a troubled couple in the psychological drama "The Keeping Hours" (2017). That role lead to a part in another short film, the weighty "Who Decides?" (2017), but Thomas had an even bigger opportunity looming on the horizon of his young career. After a number of auditions and callbacks, he joined a cast led by comedic actor Jenna Fischer, playing her youngest son on "Splitting Up Together."
